Disappoinment Greets ‘Obi-dients’ As New Collation Results Show Tinubu As Legitimate Winner Of Election

 

Some supporters of the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Mr Peter Obi, are apparently disappointed after their bid to prove that the just concluded presidential election was rigged against Mr Obi turned against them.

Recall that some creative and tech-savvy people among Mr Obi’s supporters had begun to transcribe the election results on the result portal of INEC.

They built a parallel IReV portals to collate missing or doctored votes as uploaded on INEC portal. One of the sites they built c ould even recover deleted data.

Though their collated results showed Mr Obi leading in the poll on Thursday evening, a surprise twist occured on Friday morning, showing Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress as the clear and legitimate winner of the presidential poll.

The result collation, spearheaded by one Mark Essien on Twitter, now shows that aside any form of electoral malpractice, Tinubu polled more votes than Obi and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Following the sudden twist against their exercise, Mr Obi’s supporters discontinued the result collation processing

.Mr Peter Obi had urged his supporters to respect the sanctity of the Court premises and give him and his legal team the space and peaceful environment to carry out their duties today, March 8th, 2023.

He also had noted that his presence in court is because of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC’s refusal to allow his party to inspect the materials (including BVAS) used for the February 25th presidential elections.
